irides (she/they) is a music producer, sound designer, mixing engineer, songwriter, poet, and electronic visual artist. She comes from a classical background, having started playing piano at the age of six which she pursued through her undergraduate degree at Boston University. They have always had a love for any music and art that evokes deep feeling, and aims to create this with their own work, exploring all sides of the emotional spectrum. She believes in the power of storytelling through art and aims to evoke strong sensations by experimenting with electronic and vocal production, playing with the way that sound can impact emotions felt in the body.
Feeling a desire to hone their craft and learn new skills, they pursued a Master of Music degree in Music Production, Technology, and Innovation at Berklee College of Music, Valencia Campus from 2022-2023. Her time at Berklee offered the opportunity to explore using electronics and sound design to create the soundscapes she always dreamed of in her mind. In her time there, she garnered the skills to produce, engineer, mix, and add visuals to her own work while collaborating with artists across music genres.
Collaboration is one of her favorite parts of creating. While there are moments to create from only the self, she believes in the power of creatives coming together to originate meaningful work. They love to produce and co-write songs with other musicians and have collaborated on a range of genres, from eclectic baroque-pop, to contemporary RnB, and hyper-pop. She co-produced and mixed Anaís Azul’s debut solo EP, "Vulnerable" (released 2022), and debut album "Simp'ashani: Canciones Trenzadas" (released 2024). She also produced and mixed Liobhan's debut album "Corpos de Agua." (released 2025), and was the producer for Maggie Cubillos’ single “A Colder Christmas” (released 2023). They also enjoy collaborating with visual artists to make evocative artwork, and always look for opportunities to explore with creatives of any kind.
irides was proud to present the first iteration of her piece "cycles: healing from abuse through love" as an immersive audio-visual installation in May 2023 at ESAT in Valencia, Spain and the second iteration as video art in April 2024 during Festival Sarao in Paris, France.
the piece is a combination of electronic sound design and guitar which mirror the feelings and ideas expressed through spoken word poetry and sung vocals paired with projected visuals in a variety of styles that work together to create a visceral experience.
