hello! i'm irides (she/they).

i am a music producer, sound designer, mixing engineer, songwriter, poet, and electronic visual artist. i have always had a love for any art that evokes deep feeling and i believe in the power of storytelling and communicating through art to experience our interconnectedness.

i grew up performing and competing as a classical pianist which led me to study music at Boston University for my undergraduate degree. a few years later and after nearly a decade working in the restaurant industry while doing music on the side, i wanted to hone my craft and learn new skills. i chose to pursue my master of music degree in Music Production, Technology, and Innovation at Berklee College of Music, Valencia Campus from 2022-2023.

my time at Berklee offered the opportunity to explore my own artistry and i began to experiment using electronics and sound design to create the soundscapes i always dreamt of in my mind. i also garnered the skills to produce, engineer, mix, and create visuals while collaborating with artists across music genres.

collaboration is one of my favorite parts of creating - i believe in the power of creatives coming together to originate meaningful work. i love to produce and co-write songs with other musicians and have collaborated on a range of genres, from eclectic baroque-pop, to contemporary RnB, and hyper-pop.

artist project

i was proud to present the first iteration of my piece "cycles: healing from abuse through love" as an immersive audio-visual installation in May 2023 at ESAT in Valencia, Spain and the second iteration as video art in April 2024 during Festival Sarao in Paris, France.

this piece began as a series of ten poems. it evolved into a combination of soundscapes created from electronic sound design and guitar which mirror the feelings from the ideas expressed through the spoken word poetry and sung vocals , all paired with projected visuals.

these elements work together to create a visceral experience that evokes strong sensations. by layering this intentional electronic and vocal production, i wanted to experiment with the way that sound can impact emotions felt in the body.

"Corpos de Agua." - Liobhan

"Corpos de Agua." is an album that was born from a collection of songs which are close to Liobhan's heart. she has been performing her own interpretations of these covers for several years and wanted the opportunity to create recorded studio versions. in addition, her first original compositions are featured and all together create a diverse and eclectic body of work full of sounds that have inspired her as a person and artist.

"Simp'ashani: Canciones Trenzadas" - Anaís Azul

Simp’ashani was born out of Anaís’ time on a Fulbright in Lima, Perú where they were studying Indigenous Andean music, learning Quechua, and visiting Indigenous communities across the Andes while reconnecting with their own roots. We included interviews they recorded during their field research where they spoke with family, community, and other Andean diaspora members. The goal was to tell Anaís‘ story and offer a love letter to communities of diasporas through story telling, world building, and sonic experimentation .
